Nursing Services

Astoria Nursing & Rehabilitation is staffed by registered and licensed nurses 24-hours/7 days a week. They provide treatments and administer medication as prescribed by the physician and monitor the resident’s medical and emotional needs, keeping the physician informed of any changes that occur. Certified nursing assistants help with residents’ daily needs, such as assistance with bathing, dressing or feeding.

Each room is linked to the nearest nursing station by an emergency call system so that the resident can receive assistance 24 hours a day.

Alzheimer’s Care

Our nurses work with the client’s family to create a comfortable environment including simple routines and visual cues as a positive substitute for diminishing mental processes.

Astoria Nursing and Rehabilitation Center has been specifically designed to provide a safe and secure environment for those patients who have a tendency to wander. We offer WanderGuard™ bracelets for those patients with Alzheimer’s Disease and related disorders. The WanderGuard™ bracelet signals an unauthorized departure of residents by setting off alarm devices which have been installed at the point of entrance/exit throughout the center.
